                                                                            Season Info

Welcome to our 3rd year of Jet City Hoops basketball!  We have grown from 8 teams and one division in our first season to 14 teams last year playing in two divisions (Recreational and Competitive).  Because of your support we are now the largest GBLT basketball league on the West Coast and one of the largest in the nation.

Gym Location:  Miller Recreational Center in Capitol Hill (330 19th Ave E Seattle, WA 98112-5300

Season Length for both Rec and Competitive Divisions:   12 weeks on Sundays (10am – 6pm) from November 14th – Feb  27th (excluding holidays)

Recreational Division

Teams can stay together if they have 5 or more players who want to stay with their team.  If teams stay together but lose players, they will have the opportunity to add more players in the draft.   If returning JCH players leave a team they will enter into the draft.  All new players this season will enter into the draft and be chosen by team captains to play on a team.  Everyone who registers is guaranteed to be chosen on a team.

New in the Rec Division this year:

1.       Number of Competitive Division players –Based on player feedback at our annual meeting in July, this season each team can only have a maximum of 2 competitive players.  (If you played in the Competitive Division last year then you are considered a  Competitive level player)

2.       Uniforms -  We received requests from players to be able to have their team names on uniforms  as occurs in the Competitive Division.  This season you will be able to have your team name and logos on your jerseys and will be responsible for purchasing those jerseys as the competitive players did last season.

3.       Game Schedule – Games have moved from Saturdays to Sundays due to gym availability.  We weren’t able to locate a gym for Saturday play so both divisions will play on the same day. That should actually be fun as you can see some of the competitive division games too.

Competitive Division

Most things have stayed the same this year in the Competitive Division.  However, in order to keep the games as competitive as possible, all teams will be redrafted at the start of the season which means that all new and returning players will enter into the draft and be chosen by a team captain.

Draft for Recreational and Competitive Divisions

The draft will occur on Saturday, October 23rd after the draft game.  All new players in both divisions should plan on showing up at Miller Recreational Center to play in the draft games. Team captains from both divisions will be in attendance and will choose their teams.  All paid players are guaranteed to be selected on a team.
