Here is a brief detailed description of just that!
Michael Coleman and Mike Hamstra founded Jet City Hoops in the fall of 2008. In April 2008 they put a Seattle team together to compete in a GBLTQ basketball tourney in Chicago and came back energized about the idea of forming a basketball league in Seattle. They were passionate about the idea of starting a league in Seattle and in 2008 took a leap of faith by renting a gym on their personal credit cards for an entire season before any basketball players had signed up to play. That effort paid off as enough players signed up to launch the league with 8 teams competing in one division. Since that inaugural season, Jet City Hoops has grown to include a Recreational and Competitive division and has quickly become the largest GBLTQ league on the West Coast and one of the largest in the nation.
